Table of Contents

I. Applicable Corrosion-Protection Standards

ISO 12944-2 and GB/T 30790.2-2014

II. Types of Corrosion Protection

  1. Sendzimir continuous hot-dip galvanized steel

    Zinc coating weight: 80–275 g/m²
    Zinc coating thickness: 5.6–19.3 μm
    1 μm = 7.14 g/m²

  2. Hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with ISO 1461 after component fabrication

    Zinc coating weight: 464–607 g/m²
    Zinc coating thickness: 65–85 μm
    1 μm = 7.14 g/m²

  3. Aluminum alloy or stainless steel, grade SS 304 or SS 316

  4. Epoxy powder coating

  5. Hot-dip galvanizing plus epoxy powder coating

  6. Typical environments and recommended corrosion-protection methods

Corrosivity Category Typical Environment Recommended Surface Treatment
C1 Dry indoor environments Pre-Galvanized Steel
C2 Warehouses / light industrial buildings Pre-Galvanized Steel
C3 Humid industrial or light coastal areas Hot-Dip Galvanized ≥65μm
C4 Chemical plants / coastal environments Hot-Dip Galvanized ≥85μm
C5 High humidity / salt mist / aggressive industrial areas Hot-Dip Galvanized ≥85μm + Powder Coating
